So you young folks may not know this, but my generation and older had a very different relationship with phones. It sounds crazy, but we used them to talk to each other…and that’s all. That’s all a phone did! It was shaped to fit your ear and over your mouth, people conversed with each other, sometimes for a very long time. But now what is the phone?  It’s an app in your phone you hardly ever use. It’s misleading to call it a phone. It’s a screen, interactive tv, a black box.  It has good uses for sure, but it is another step away from direct human connection, face to face, heart to heart.
