Old friend of the St. Hagop Armenian Church community and current dean of St. Nersess Theological Seminary in Westchester County, NY, Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian will give the sermon on Sun. Feb. 23 and make a short presentation on the expanded mission of St. Nersess Seminary at the conclusion of badarak.
It was again an honor to host the regional ACYOA workshop at St. Hagop, a wonderful weekend spent in worship, study and fellowship. Participants made hundreds of sandwiches for Pinellas Hope and delivered them the next day. Much thanks Mallory Maslar for organizing this charitable outreach for St. Hagop!
Last Sunday’s BBQ picnic for Syrian relief was delicious, provided wonderful fellowship and rasied money for Syrian Armenians who need our help. The picnic itself raised over $1,710, with an additional $1,100 donated by 2 individual donors. We thank the Kotchounian, Nalbandian and Tashian families for leading this effort to help their compatriots in need.…
Following last winter’s successful campaign, and the ongoing daily struggle of Syrian Armenians for shelter, safety and sustenance, the St. Hagop parish council resolved to designate all general donations made on the divine liturgy of Jan. 5th to Syrian relief. The $2,932 we raised together on Sunday will go directly from St. Hagop to needy families brought forward by our parishioners…
